Senior Area Safety Officer – Pharmacovigilance (France & French-Speaking Countries)

About the Role
We are hiring a Senior Area Safety Officer to support our global pharmacovigilance (PV) team. This is a contract role suited for a qualified healthcare professional with strong experience in product safety and regulatory compliance.
You’ll lead safety work across France and French-speaking countries, helping to manage local PV systems, reporting processes, and communication with health authorities.
What You’ll Do
1. Safety Systems & Documentation

Oversee safety work done by vendors.

Maintain and update the French PSMF, and help with the EEA/UK PSMF.

Identify safety issues and lead follow-up actions (CAPAs).

Share safety updates during internal safety meetings.
2. Safety Reporting & Management
-
Respond to safety questions from health agencies.

Match safety data between teams, partners, and vendors.

Handle adverse event (AE) reports and literature reviews.

Manage translation of safety documents (e.g., ICSRs).

Track and act on new safety rules or changes in law.
3. Teamwork & Communication

Join cross-team projects and give safety advice.

Be the go-to person for product safety in your region.
4. Procedures & Compliance

Create local safety procedures to match global SOPs.

Help with audits, inspections, and related plans.

Support business continuity and back up the Area Safety Head.
What We’re Looking For
Education
-
Degree in healthcare or life sciences
(e.g., pharmacist, nurse, or similar).
Experience
-
At least 3 years working in pharmacovigilance or product safety in the pharmaceutical field.
Skills
-
Deep knowledge of local and global PV rules.

Skilled in AE reporting, risk management, and safety submissions.

Fluent in French and English (spoken and written).

Strong communication, organization, and writing skills.

Comfortable using PV systems and safety databases.

Able to work alone and with global teams.
