The Business Development Manager will serve as a key commercial contributor responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new client relationships across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device sectors. Operating within a full-service Clinical Research Organization (CRO), this individual will lead strategic business development efforts to drive revenue growth and promote the company’s comprehensive suite of clinical trial services spanning Phases I–IV.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within the life sciences industry
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients and qualified leads
  • Lead proposal development, pricing strategy, and bid defence presentations in collaboration with internal subject matter experts
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through a consultative and solutions-oriented approach
  • Monitor and analyse market trends, competitor activity, and client feedback to guide business strategy
  • Represent the organization at industry events and conferences to enhance brand visibility and networking opportunities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, medical, and regulatory teams to ensure alignment between client needs and internal capabilities

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 3–7 years of business development experience in a CRO or clinical research environment
  • Strong knowledge of clinical trial design and the drug development process
  • Demonstrated success in meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Proficient in CRM systems such as Salesforce or HubSpot
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel (up to 30%) for client meetings and industry events
