About the Role
We are seeking a Director of Process Development with deep expertise in viral vectors and upstream processes (USP). You’ll lead critical initiatives to optimize and scale viral vector production, playing a key role in moving therapies from R&D to GMP manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and scale-up of viral vector and upstream production processes

Oversee day-to-day process development to ensure scalability, consistency, and quality

Partner with R&D, Manufacturing, and Regulatory teams for smooth tech transfer and GMP compliance

Mentor and guide a team of scientists and engineers, fostering innovation and growth

Support regulatory submissions by preparing and reviewing technical documentation
Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Molecular Biology, or a related field

8+ years in biotech or pharma, with strong focus on viral vector production and upstream processing

Experience with lentivirus, AAV, adenovirus, or similar platforms
-
Proven leadership managing teams of 8–10 in a cross-functional environment

Deep understanding of GMP manufacturing and regulatory compliance

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications

Industry experience in gene and cell therapy, especially in fast-paced settings

Hands-on knowledge of bioreactor operations, suspension cultures, and vector platforms

Experience with process modeling, optimization, and data analytics

Track record of team development and collaborative leadership
